Work in the studio is coming along smoothly, I have finished most of my drum parts, and Josh has started laying down his thunderous and introspective bass parts.

We have a few shows coming up the Westword Music Showcase on June 14th and Dysrythmia at the hi-dive on June 27th. Those will be the only shows that we will be playing until this records is finished being recorded.

Other then that not much is new. Expect to see some interesting photos and video on the making of our second "first" full length record here and on you tube. Tune in to here to keep up on new about the record.

Listen to The Bedlam in Goliath - Mars Volta. Wow.

"Things" are on there way, I feel like I have said this a million times, and I am definitely not going to count how many posts say the similar words. WORK IS BEING DONE! I promise, the production line is slow but the learning curve is steep. We are looking to throw a ton of money at a new van so we can come see all your pretty faces, some prettier then others, I must admit, you know who you are. The album is being worked on as I type, we start the final draft of what seams our interpretation of Robert Anton Wilson's The Illuminatus! triology this week. In other news work on a new web site has begun and if I can figure this confusing shit out it's going to be super.

SXSW is right around the corner. If you or your band is going get in contact with us so we can met up and have a ball in Austin, Texas. After that our plans are finishing this record and tour, tour, tour.

that's it for now, more news as it comes.

Listen to RICHARD STRAUSS - Also Sprach Zarathustra. Fucking brilliant.

FUCK 1986. Let me summarize a little story of a young struggling band, for your entertainment and enlightenment. It was the day after Thanksgiving, after much unmentioned ado we left Denver around 12. An 8 hour trip to Wichita Kansas on a clear day turns in to a 17 hour trip to Lawrence Kansas, in a brutal snow storm. first show missed, we have officially started out our winter tour with a bang. After it was painfully obvious that our idiot mechanic put old ass fucking bald tires on the van, we spent 4 hours 60 miles out of Denver, in good old Limon Colorado, getting brand new snow tires. After a short sleep in Lawrence we met back with the tour the very next day in St. louis. The next few weeks go like this; cool shows, cool tour mates, cool venues, no audience, and a two night stay at a kick ass mansion in Kentucky. Hot tub, need I say more. Tour trudges on.

New York City the shit hits the fan, it was a large turd and powerful fan. Stress levels were high, you could feel it in the air, maybe it's just that city, but there was an obvious attitude adjustment. Words were exchanged, thankfully we were able to work it all out and get along like nice little boys. After all we had a fantastic night in the Big Apple. However, heading out of the city that never sleeps became quite a problem for us over the next month.

After paying a toll on the western side of the Throngs neck bridge I notice that our van had taken a liking to spewing out massive amounts of white smoke from the tail pipe. This was some straight up spy hunter shit, for real. New Yorkers love letting you know when they are not please, and they were most definitely not please.

Have a smoke, take a drink and wait to get towed cause "we going nowhere" but back to brooklyn where we stayed for 3 whole weeks. Thank you so much Jordan, Alaska and Theubaute your exceptence of us in your home was more then appreciated, we owe you.

"Nor-Bartow" "OH MR. ANDREW, YOU BLOWN HEAD GASKET, 1.5 WEEK TO FIX, NEED NEW ENGINE, YOU UNDERSTAND?"

1.5 weeks later

"Nor-Bartow" "Oh. Mr.Andrew, bad new, engine smoke, smell bad, need to get another. You understand?"

another 1.5 weeks later

"Nor-Bartow" "Oh, Mr.Andrew, our mechanic, he did not show up today. no call. You understand?"

We broke down on december 3rd, the van was not repaired until December 22nd. Finding engines for an 1986 Chevy van is not easy. Three weeks in one of the most expensive cities in the United States. No jobs, no money, no shows, no fucking nothing. Thank the gods of rock for friends and family, if only a simple sacrifice would have been made this could have all be avoided, the gods are not pleased with Autokinoton.

December 22nd we leave Brooklyn at 1:00 am after getting the van back with only relatively minor complications. Its running free. But for some reason there are the Pocino Mountains. Hardly mountains by an Coloradoan's standards, but insurmountable to an old '86 van that just got some shady work done to it. 4:00 am, I notice, while climbing a particularly large hill, the temperature gauge make its way over to the "too fucking hot to drive" persuasion of the design. FUCK. I pull the van over she over heats and vomits up a bunch of coolant, sick again. FUCK. Wait for her to cool down, start it up, only this time the van is talking shit to me, knocking around and pouring out smoke screen. FUCK. There needs to be a new word for what we felt in that van on that fated night, none can truly describe the vibe, FUCK comes close but not nearly close enough.

So to wrap it up, another blown head gasket. We U-hauled home on a 32 hour drive. fueled by caffeine, nicotine, and 4 types of refined amphetamines just in time for Christmas eve. A fucking Christmas miracle. If the whole tour could be summed up in two words it would be HELL RIDE.

Let it been known from this day forth, spread the word far and wide, that the three that form autokinoton, will be back on the road soon with a vengeance. America shall pay.

Big thanks to Rusty, Matt, Rob, Andrew and Ryan of Battlefields, you dudes are fucking rad. Mike Armine and all the dudes in Rosetta, thank you. A huge thank you to anyone who came out to see us play or was out when we played, your attendance was noted and appreciated. Thank you too all the venues that let us make noise in there places of business. Last but not least thanks you to anyone who let us have a place to stay in there home, particularly Chad from Silver Bridge Disaster.

We are currently designing plans for the future, which include; finishing our second "first" full length record, if you catch my drift and I do drift if you can catch it. Buying a new van and touring a whole lot, pretty much working our way in to some serious debt. See you all out on the road.

Friends and co-conspirators, we have risen from our reclusive state. This last year we've been working hard to write new songs as a three piece and record an album. We are still in the midst of recording but we've decided to quickly mix down a couple of the tracks and take them on tour with us. The tour cd will include, a mix of Faceless ghost and A World Re-begins, both songs will appear on our, as of right now un-named, first full length record. These songs are just a small preview of what we have been working on in the studio. Since both songs are being put out on this tour cd, both will be reworked and rethought for the album as to not be redundant for those who got the cd at a show. In about a week we are headed out on a 3 week Eastern US tour with our friends Battlefields. Check out the dates and come hang out.

Everything is in motion for us to tour with Battlefields this time, dates are booked, the van is being worked on, I know she's a hunk of junk but she can make the Kessel run in less then 12 parsecs, so all you haters can fuck right off. All the tour info is posted one post below so check it out, see if we are coming to your town.

Our studio work is moving incredibly slowly, but is coming out the way we want it to so keep your earballs open about release dates and what not, we will have new music for this upcoming tour. we have some awesome shows coming up before tour as well, including Kinski with the Warlocks and Darker My Love, Jesu and Yakuza and finally WitchCraft, these should all be awesome shows so if you are in town come out, the Jesu show is all ages so there is no excuses for that one.

Western US Tour fell through, van failed emissions, spent hours a few different DMVs being told "NO" over and over again on Friday, felt like Joseph K from Kafka's The Trial. We are now in the midst of re-recording, and its going well. In other news we are getting together a tour together with our good friends Battlefields, more information about this soon.

Also DENVER FEST is right around the corner, and this should be a great time for all. We are playing on Friday September 31st, with Battlefields and RED SPAROWES, this should be a great show so don't miss it my pretties. any way that's about it for now.

listen to Santana III - he can really wail. I know he went to shit later on in his career, but from 1969 - 1975 this man was king.

Greetings, here we go again re-hashing the filthy songs of our fathers. Much is new in Autokino-World, we are still very much in our proverbial cocoon (AKA the furnace room, AKA the den of iniquities AKA the stinky ass basement of the house we live in, seriously that shit smells like dead fish sometimes, and so do you PF Morris, fuckface). We finished all of the drum tracks most of the guitar and some of the bass only to decide to scrap it and start fresh all over again, fun fun fun.

This is a picture from the studio, myself on the left, stressed out and stoned, Josh with his bass, stressed and stoned, Trevor on the right manning the controls, stoned, and Justin took the picture surprisingly also stoned. At this moment we had traveled the furthest and deepest in to our collective psyche, realized shit was cluttered and unorganized. At this point we decided to "run for our lives", in other words "re-record". The shit was just fucked up, what can I say, some of it was my fault, well most of it. but we will be on top again as soon as the re-recording sessions start, which is very soon. Other than that the tracks are sounding great.

In other news we are in the midst of planning a Western US tour with our good friends Mustangs and Madras. here are the dates:

Western US Tour

Venues are TBA that's all for now, farewell, until next time.

Ok, so yeah its been a month, whatever. Deal with it. Although work on this web site has been slow we have been productive, a van has been purchased and with slight alterations will be a nation exploring machine. Work has also begun on our first record as a three piece, we are in the cool basement studio of the furnace room and Trevor Morris has been doing and exceptional job, we are very excited by what has been coming out. Other than that we are each in very odd and strange feeling moments of life as always and we would have it no other way. No shows for some time, although we will be making a radio appearance with in the next few weeks, we will mostly be focusing on writing and recording new material.

Here is the new van A.K.A. the brown lobster A.K.A. space plane.

Listen to Miles Davis - all of it, he's a genius.

Keep your eyes to the skies and your ears to the ground. Godspeed, AK.

06.11.07
ICT fest was fucking crazy as always, a good time was had by all. Thanks to every one involved, special thanks to DAN DAVIS for being an amazing human being. We would like to give a shout to all the new friends that we made out there thanks for making the whole thing that much more enjoyable, no need to list all the names you know who you are. We have some shows on the horizon, a few releases from our good friends THE NEW ROME as well as MUSTANGS AND MADRAS. Also we are playing a show tonight and there is a poster for it here.

Listen to Robert Johnson - he sold his soul to the devil, creep out.

Godspeed, AK.

Thank you YAMAHAMA, you guys are awesome, the show was great. Thanks every everybody who showed up, we want to touch you all sexually, but lovingly to show our gratitude. This Friday is the Horace Van Vaughn show with Machine Gun Blues and Ghost Buffalo, this should prove to be a good time, Andrew will unfortunately be in NY and unable to attend, However the mighty Jason Walker will be stepping in drum duties and Andrew is confident he won't miss a beat. ICT Fest is just around the bend and excitement is mounting, we are playing in Lawrence at the Jackpot Music Hall the night before with our friends Lethe and The New Rome, here is a poster for the show (Black Cobra may or may not be on the show, if not they are playing across the street at the Replay Lounge, go to both shows).

Listen to Secret Chiefs - Book M. fucking mind blow.

Godspeed, AK.

A big FUCK YES! to everyone that attended or took part in A Place In the Sun, it was a huge epic success for Taylor and Emily of Dauphine. Locker Partners a local video production team is working on a video montage of the night which should prove to be quite interesting. So if you didn't catch the show cause your an idiot, then you can live vicariously through their footage, good luck.

In other news, we are in the process of writing some new and hopefully exciting material, for your listening pleasure and other peoples leisure. ICT Fest is on the horizon, and we need to get our asses in gear to get a new van, any word on such machinery would be appreciated. We have added a few shows to our schedule including our first all ages show in Denver in 8 months with a special collaboration with the amazing Yamahama. Our last collaboration with them was almost a year ago, So be there, it won't happen again for quite some time. There will also be a Horace Van Vaughn Performance including Joshua & Justin (Autokinoton), Holland Rock Garden (MGB), Tyler (Laylights) and Jason Walker (New Rome). If you've never seen HVV just go to the show, it's easier than explaining it. This HVV performance will not include Andrew as he will be dicking off somewhere. Should be interesting.

Check out the shows page for more information about the up coming shows.

Listen to Jack Rose, and fuckin trip out on wheed. word.

Thanks to everyone that came out to the High on Fire shows we had a ton of fun, maybe too much. we would like to thank every one of our friends for the support that they all showed, we love you all very much.

420 is just around the corner and you know what that means, wheed. Also our very close friends Taylor McFadden and Emily Mcallister asked Autokinoton to supply the soundtrack to their up coming Dauphine production. For those of you who don't know Miss McFadden is a quite accomplished hair dresser and also dabbles in creating hair styles as scupture.

Dauphine presents:
A Place in the Sun: April 20th, 2007 @ Three Kings Tavern
21+| $8 | 9pm doors
Music: Autokinoton, MVP, Achillelauro. Hair as art, paintings, visuals, runway show, and more.

Seriously, come out to this it's gonna be great. Edward Ray Maestas will be joining us with some far out guitar work for the runway show, and then we will be playing our live set after.
Listen to Nick Drake - Pink Moon. Yes, so good.

Hello friends and co-conspirators, this is the first of many posts on our new web site, here are some things that are new with Autokinoton. We are about to come out of our hibernation with some new jams and even newer ones are on the way. We are now sans-Shaun Nathan Herrara, he quit the band early this year for personal reasons. There are plans to record a new album this spring, as well as a European tour in August with Tephra from Germany. Also tentative plans for a US tour in September/October. If you would like to help us out and book a show, give us a place to stay or whatever please contact Emily Francis our Booking/Management.

More recently on March 31st we are playing our first show back with the line-up change. It is at 3 Kings Tavern in Denver with High on Fire which also happens to be Justin's birthday. Download a poster: HOF3/31 Poster So if you are anywhere near Denver come out it will be a blast. This will also be one of our only shows in Denver before we head out to record. The Media section of the web site will soon be more thorough with downloadable mp3's of our entire discography as well as any sort of press information.

Also if you own and are willing to part with 70s Orange GRO 100 - OR120/80 (non-master volume) or a pre-CBS blackface Fender Twin Reverb please contact Justin who is in dire need of another Orange or a Fender Twin.

Godspeed.
